Recently, because of a lack of demand, retailers have been stuck with massive amounts of inventory sitting in stock rooms and shelves. As the holiday season approaches many retailers are forced to reduce prices to move inventory and take advantage of seasonal shopping patterns. Normally the holiday season is when retailers can make most of their profit, but this year will be drastically different. One question remains...how could have this been avoided?
